About the Author

Peter S. Bergeron is the author of The Trapped Operator and the creator of the 12 Fatal Issues for Small Business Framework. The framework is built from fifty years of lived experience inside small businesses and anchored in three years of active doctoral research at Johnson & Wales University, where his work focuses on organizational development and family business succession.

His dad launched a family business when Peter was four years old. Peter grew up in it, was told he might want to work somewhere else for a while at fourteen, and earned his way back at twenty-nine — spending nearly two decades running the finance and operational side alongside his father. When it closed, he went looking for answers. What he found was a research field that openly acknowledged it did not have the models to explain what actually happens inside a small business. That gap became the foundation for the Small Business Durability Model and the 12 Fatal Issues for Small Business Framework.
