Following the success of his first book, published in 2009, Sylvain Margaine still travels around France in search of these forbidden and often overlooked places. In this way he draws attention to the sometimes dramatic fate of the country’s heritage, the preservation of which has become a matter for serious reflection.

Sylvain Margaine: born in 1977, is an engineer. Since 1998 he has been identifying and photographing the world’s forgotten heritage and publishing these urban explorations on his website: www.forbidden- places.net.
David Margaine: born in 1980, is a pharmacist by trade. For the past twelve years he has been working as a writer, composer and performer with several groups of musicians from the Bordeaux alternative scene.
