ADAPTIVE ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE AS INFORMATION: ARCHITECTING INTELLIGENT ENTERPRISES

Asif Qumer Gill is a result-oriented academic cum practitioner with extensive 20+ years' experience in IT in various sectors including banking, consulting, education, finance, government, nonprofit, software and telecommunication. He is A/Professor & Director of the DigiSAS (PKA COTAR) Research and Innovation Lab at the UTS School of Computer Science. He was also director and founder of the start-up Infoagility (Adapt Inn Pty Ltd). His earlier professional experience in agile software development, solution architecture, information architecture, information security, and program management provided a strong foundation for later work in strategic data-driven IT strategy, enterprise architecture and governance.

He has strong fruitful relationships with industry and worked with several organisations including Ability Options, ANZ Bank, Bureau of Meteorology, Department of Defence, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DoIIS), Emergency Information Coordination Unit (EICU), Flexi Group, ING Australia, OnePath, KPMG, Reserve Bank of Australia, Telstra, University of Newcastle, and University of Sydney. He has extensive professional experience in leading and delivering agile and non-agile multi-million dollar commercial and research innovation projects including enterprise learning engagements (via accessUTS). He is also helping start-ups in developing innovative capabilities, business models, products, and services.

He conducts practice-oriented applied action-design research that targets the challenges of academia, industry, government, and society. He has h-index of 25 (Google scholar) and published 100+ articles including academic and industry articles and books. His work has appeared in major academic journals (Ranked A/A*): IEEE Access, Information and Management, Information Systems, Communications of the AIS, Information and Software Technology, Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Systems and Software; Conferences: AMCIS, ACIS, ICIS, PACIS; and industry articles: IEEE IT Professional, Cutter IT Journal, CIO Magazine, Sydney Morning Herald and The Conversation.

He is recognised as a leader and specialist in agile methods, adaptive enterprise & information architecture for data-intensive digital ecosystems. He is a member of several academic journals' editorial boards and Software & Standards Australia Systems Engineering Committee (IT-015) and ACS Data Sharing Committee. He is often invited and involved as a professional keynote speaker, panel member, guest editor, conference chair, organizer, and reviewer for a number of national and international academic and industry conferences.
