It’s 1920, and Dr Madeline Drake has just inherited a time machine. Time is a complex and sensitive thing – it requires a very delicate touch – which is a pity, really.Because Madeline, despite her polite English society upbringing, is more of a full throttle, “Oh bugger, let’s just press this and see what it does” kind of a girl. Which, to be fair, does prove to be an effective strategy… mostly.Not this time. Madeline’s machine has drawn malevolent and envious eyes and inadvertently set in motion a chain of events that could threaten both her timeline, and every other.But help may be at hand in the form of “The Agency of the Inexplicable” and their number one agent, John Hurn (actually the only agent). Hurn runs his paranormal investigations from the living room of his modest semi-detached house in 1976 Cheshire, and this rather quiet, methodical and understated young man is about to get “Madelined” as the ripples from her machine reach his world. Together, this unlikely duo must combine forces to save the multiverse, and she really must do something about those damned squeaking trousers.
