McCormack gives unflinchingly practical advice on how to get Social Security and disability benefits, Medicaid, AIDS drug AZT, food stamps, housing and foreclosure prevention, burial assistance, and other benefits. In the course of providing this concise, accessible, yet exhaustive information, he also manages to take some of the confusion out of that bureaucratic nightmare, the public benefit eligibility process.
