Serving as a Protestant missionary doctor in Central Kalimantan during the early 1950s, Arnoud H. Klokke travelled far up the great rivers to visit villages of the Ngaju and Ot Danum peoples. This book presents a selection of Dr. Klokke's fascinating photographs depicting the exceptional cultural heritage of these Dayak groups as well as a number of objects he collected which are now kept in the National Museum of Ethnology (Leiden, the Netherlands).
