Without terminal blank in Vol. 1 and terminal advertisement leaf in Vol. 2; Volume 1: xii, 285pp; Volume 2: vii, 296pp; Volume 3; ix, 323pp; Volume 4: viii, 261pp. Early 19th Century polished speckled calf; gilt spine compartment decorations, all edges gilt, red and green titling piece; marbled end papers. Overall in very fine condition. Henry Feiding's final novel is populated with all strata of British society, especially the lower sort. Amelia tells the tale of her marriage to Captain William Booth and their many travails, while exploring the views on female intelligence and its place in the society of the time.
