About the Author
Ecrivain, voyageur, cavalier, éditeur, Jean-Louis Gouraud est un défenseur bien connu de la cause chevaline. Auteur de quelques aventures vécues avec des chevaux et d'une oeuvre abondante, il a été récompensé par de nombreux prix littéraires.
Il dirige la collection Arts équestres éditée par Actes Sud. Le récit de son voyage à cheval de Paris à Moscou, Le Pérégrin émerveillé (Babel) a reçu le Prix Renaudot Poche 2013. Il a été nommé Ambassadeur des Jeux Équestres Mondiaux FEI AlltechTM 2014 en Normandie.
Parmi la centaine de contributeurs auxquels il a fait appel pour composer son inventaire mondial des “Amazones”, on relève notamment les noms des écrivains Clara Arnaud, Michel Bernard, Jean des Cars, Jérome Garcin ou Sylvain Tesson.
