Over two dozen sample figures are detailed in this book, but the real strength of ARES is its figure creation system, that encourages players to use their imaginations -- which is the way it should be!
Also included is a fully-customizable magic system, providing players with the opportunity to design their own spells for their troops.
The Expanded Rulebook is a re-print of the ARES Rulebook and ARES Bestiary in one volume.
ARES Rulebook:
This 64-page book describes the basic ARES rules, outlines the customizable magic system, provides the guidelines for designing your own figures, and even presents over two dozen sample figure types. What more could you possibly want?
ARES Bestiary:
Dwarves and Elves and Orcs... oh my!
The ARES Bestiary provides a dozen comprehensive army lists, covering all of the most popular fantasy races, including game values for a plethora of creatures, both real and imaginary.
Also included are rules for chariots, beast riders, and lots of new rules and special abilities. This is one book no ARES player should be without!

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on standard-sized books weighing up to 4 LB, or 1.8 KG. If your book order is heavy and/or over-sized and the shipping address is OUTSIDE of The United States, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
At Mahler Books, we make no attempt to over-charge for shipping. Sometimes International buyers are surprised to discover the high cost of shipping heavy or over-sized books.
If you are located OUTSIDE of The United States, and you are ordering a heavy or over-sized book, the shipping costs are estimated to be about 42 US dollars. This is the cost of the Global Priority Flat Rate Box. I agree that this shipping cost seems excessive, but this is what the Postal Service charges me, and this is the cheapest rate I have been able to locate for large books weighing over 1.8 KG.
