[4], 119 pages. Paperback: H 28cm x L 21.5cm. Gray paper covers with minor creasing at their bottom fore-edge corners, touch of scuffing at spine ends. Interior pages are bright and clean. Binding remains fairly crisp. A near fine copy. With Acknowledgements, Foreword, color and b/w illustrations, Notes, Selected Bibliography, and List of Illustrations. Published as the accompanying catalog for a 1981 exhibition organized and held at the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, Alabama. William H. Gerdts is Professor Emeritus of Art History at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and is one of the country's foremost art historians with a particular expertise regarding American Impressionism and nineteenth-century American still life painting.
