ART INQUIRY: FUNCTION, MEANING AND

Art Inquiry: Function, Meaning, and Visual Language seeks to rekindle in students what they may have lost in the fourth grade, if not earlier. Most young children demonstrate a love of drawing and painting the events of their lives and what they see in the world.

The authors' firsthand knowledge of effective classroom pedagogy and personal knowledge of the materials and techniques used in the creation of works of art enables their presentation of an integrated approach to art appreciation teaching and learning, which empowers students to understand that tools and materials of art speak a language all their own.
