Ancient Ashkelon was first inhabited in the Neolithic Age. This seaport has been subject to conquest and rule by many peoples through the millennia. Conquerors have included the Canaanites, Philistines, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Crusaders and Ottomans. Today, Ashkelon is a modern flourishing small city along the Mediterranean coast of Israel.

About the Author

The author is a native New Yorker. He has earned degrees from Hofstra University and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and practiced law in Upstate New York for most of his career. This original collection of Haiku follows his debut poetry publication entitled Souls Walking.
