Orig cardboard box, 4to. The inaugural issue of the pioneering magazine of art and culture, edited and published by Phyllis Johnson. Aspen appeared irregularly between 1965 and 1971. This issue was designed by the award-winning Esquire art director George Lois, along with Tom Courtos and Ralph Tuzzo. This copy is complete with all pamphlets as well the flexidisc recordings and all separately inserted ads. Included among the latter is the pamphlet promoting the IBM pavillion at the New York World's Fair, designed by Paul Rand. Publisher's introductory letter and subscription return-envelope laid in.
