A technical glitch caused errors in the scoring of the Department of Defense's Armed Services Vocation Aptitude Battery [ASVAB] between 1976 and 1980, with the result "of inflating test scores, so that large numbers of applicants were enlisted who did not actually meet minimum standards." [Foreword] This prompted a number of projects to improve enlistment screening and enlistee job placement, chief among which was the Joint-Service Project. This book provides a preliminary survey of its recommendation and results. 121 pages, with two figures, and References. Covers are rubbed at edges; text is strong and unmarked.
