Item description from seller

Octavo, 42 issues, pictorial self wrappers, later printed wrappers, stapled. A long, unbroken run of the JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN ROCKET SOCIETY (formerly ASTRONAUTICS, later ASTRONAUTICS: JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN ROCKET SOCIETY), "the official publication of the American Interplanetary Society," comprising numbers 52 through 95, issued between May 1942 and March/April 1953. The early numbers provide information on rocketry and jet propelled aircraft during WWII. The American Rocket Society was the oldest such group in the U.S., organized in 1930 by G. Edward Pendray and David Lasser. The outer pages of the May 1942 issue are dusty; overall, the issues are very good or better. Accompanied by the 88-page American Rocket Society 1951 Roster listing members and journal subscribers. (#173482).
