Large folio. Each Part in its original printed title wrappers. Each Part contains Plates, beginning with Part XIII, Plate LXI, and ending with Part XXV, Plate CXXV. Each Plate contains different illustrated Titles, usually maps but also photographic illustrations. The number of Titles included in each plate varies, from only five or six to as many as forty. All are in Very Good plus condition, except the front wrapper blank extremities to Part XIV are torn with wrapper loss but not text loss; one plate with a closed tear. Original half leather covers [very worn, front cover detached but present], title stamped in gilt on front cover. A portion of "the most detailed atlas yet published on the Civil War" [Stephenson].
