These 2 SCARCE large (8-3/4" X 11-1/2") volumes comprise an Atlas that is the ULTIMATE in presenting detailed Anatomical drawings of every part of the human body. When the author first published the Atlas, there were 7 volumes, and it was written in German. This set is a FIRST PRINTING of the 2 VOLUME SET, in English, making those outstanding works of art available in a more concise format. Volume 1 has 356 indexed pages, and was printed in 1963. Volume 2 has 421 indexed pages, and was printed in 1964. They were Edited by Dr. Helmut Ferner (Director of the Anatomical Institute at the University of Heidelberg, Germany) AND translated from German by Dr. Harry Monsen (Professor of Anatomy at the University of Illinois College of Medicine). ----- Volume 1 has 332 illustrations (MOST IN COLOR) of the Head & Neck regions. Volume 2 has 378 illustrations (MOST IN COLOR) of the Thorax, Abdomen & Extremities. Both volumes are in NEAR FINE condition, although Vol. 2 has a 2 line inscription atop the first blank flyleaf, and has a negligible 2 inch partial circular mark near the bottom of the front board (I assume where someone carelessly set a coffee mug). Otherwise it & Vol. 1 are pristine. The drawings are stunningly beautiful in their detail and accuracy. Lists to $2310.00 online.
