New hardback copy. Oxford University Press for the British Academy 2003. 159pp. 24 x 2 x 16 cms approx. Abbo of Fleury, teacher at Ramsey Abbey during the 980s, was one of the great teachers and communicators of the 10th century, a man who was enthusiastically gripped by all types of knowledge until his death in a brawl between monks. This volume presents, after a long introduction in English, in the original Latin without translation, Abbo's Commentary on Victorius' Calculus, a series of multiplication tables, which was written in the 5th century AD. The volume includes a glossary and an introductory discussion of Abbo's life and the significance of his Commentary. We pack our books properly and ship daily from the UK.
