Kay Springsteen cannot remember a time when she wasn’t telling stories... beginning with her earliest memory from about age 3, when, rather than accept punishment for changing her father’s alarm clock and making him late for work, she placed the blame squarely on the pink fuzzy shoulders of her faithful companion, Flopsy, a 10-inch tall, stuffed rabbit with satin ears and black thread whiskers. Over the years, her tales have become more creative and a bit less self-serving. The mother of four adult children, who live everywhere from Michigan to Okinawa Japan to close by her own home in Virginia, she often draws on her own life experiences as well as the experiences of her kids and their spouses for her writing. The kids all know they only way to keep their own lives from being spotlighted is to give up a sibling’s sad or funny story. Everything’s fair game with Mom. And that all makes for lots of fun in her widely scattered but somehow close-knit family. Find Kay on Facebook and at her blog http://kayspringsteen.wordpress.com/
