About the Author
At age 31, while in the process of a divorce with no childsupport, alimony or other source of income and only $2,000 to her name, Nancymoved herself and her children 70 miles and started her own business in anindustry she knew nothing about.
At the new location she was offered a salaried position at ahigher pay than she ever had before but realized they were hiring her at "thetop of the ladder" leaving her no place to grow. She knew she did notwant a job - she needed a career, so she proceeded to start herown financial planning and asset management business.
Nancy knew nothing about saving, investing or financial planningand had never owned a CD, mutual fund or anything other than a savings accountand set out to learn what she needed to do a great job for her clients andbuild a successful business. After building the business to approx. $200million in assets under management, Nancy sold her practice in 2007.
