An Abridgment Of The Apocrypha (1828)

""An Abridgment of the Apocrypha"" is a book written by Caroline Maxwell and published in 1828. The Apocrypha is a collection of ancient Jewish and Christian texts that were not included in the Hebrew Bible or the Christian New Testament. Maxwell's abridgment provides a condensed version of these texts, making them more accessible to readers who may not be familiar with their content. The book includes stories such as Tobit, Judith, and Susanna, as well as wisdom literature and apocalyptic texts. Maxwell's abridgment also includes introductions to each text, providing historical and literary context for the reader. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the Apocrypha and its place in religious history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
