The Absence Of Precision In The Formularies Of The Church Of England, Scriptural And Suitable To A State Of Probation: In Eight Sermons (1855)

""The Absence of Precision in the Formularies of the Church of England, Scriptural and Suitable to a State of Probation: In Eight Sermons"" is a religious text written by John Ernest Bode in 1855. The book is a collection of eight sermons that explore the lack of exactness in the language and terminology used in the Church of England's formularies. Bode argues that this lack of precision is intentional and necessary, as it allows for a more flexible and adaptable approach to religious practice that is better suited to the uncertain and imperfect nature of human existence. Drawing on scriptural references and theological concepts, Bode makes a case for the importance of embracing ambiguity and uncertainty in our spiritual lives, and for recognizing the value of a faith that is open to interpretation and subject to ongoing transformation. The book offers a thought-provoking and nuanced exploration of the role of language and tradition in religious practice, and will be of interest to scholars and practitioners of Christianity and theology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
