Absolute Beginners: Clarinet

Absolute Beginners Clarinet by Ned Bennett is a practical clarinet instruction book with an accompanying audio CD, combining illustrated lessons, playing exercises, and musical backing tracks in one complete learning resource. Designed for those starting to play the clarinet, this guide brings together visual explanations and recorded examples to support structured clarinet practice at home or during music lessons.

The book features step-by-step pictures that demonstrate essential aspects of playing the clarinet, alongside exercises that connect written guidance with hands-on musical practice. Practical advice covers instrument setup, playing techniques, and maintenance, helping readers understand both the musical and everyday care aspects of clarinet ownership. The included CD provides audio versions of the exercises as well as full-length accompaniment tracks for playing along with recorded music.

Combining visual instruction with audio demonstrations creates opportunities to connect clarinet technique with listening, timing, and musical expression. The backing tracks add a collaborative dimension to individual practice, allowing players to experience their clarinet part alongside an accompaniment. This combination of illustrated guidance and recorded material makes the book a useful reference for personal learning, guided instruction, and regular musical exploration.

Absolute Beginners Clarinet offers a convenient combination of illustrated instruction and CD audio for clarinet learning and practice. It can also make a thoughtful music-related gift for someone interested in exploring the instrument. With its emphasis on practical guidance, visual explanations, and the enjoyment of playing alongside recorded accompaniment, this Ned Bennett publication brings several complementary learning resources together in a single volume.
