This report includes the balance sheets of 77 banks doing business in Rhode Island in 1853. 31 were located in Providence with the balance operating in other parts of the state. This pamphlet also includes the balance sheets of 12 other savings institutions doing business in the state. This copy is in beautiful condition and provides a useful snapshot of the state's banking industry in the mid-19th century.
