Octavo, beige printed wrappers, 32 pp. A pamphlet arguing that improper sexual intercourse between husbands and wives was the leading cause of chronic disease (especially "diseases of women"), among their children. The publisher, Benedict Lust, was a German-American and one of the founders of naturopathic medicine, operating a "Naturopathic Institute" in New York and a "Naturopathic Sanitarium" in New Jersey, both advertised on the wrappers. The pamphlet describes the harmful effects of "unnatural sexual intercourse," i.e. too much sex, having sex on an empty stomach, sex during pregnancy, etc. An additional double sided flyer is laid into the booklet. Titled "Where Shall I Go This Summer, And Where Can I Recuperate The Best," it advertises "American Yungborn," the naturopathic sanitarium operated by Lust in Butler, New Jersey. Undated, but we found advertisements for the book in two periodicals from 1905. One in OCLC. Mild staining and offsetting to wrappers, discoloration along spine, vertical crease through center of booklet.
