Into the Abyss, Back a Conqueror

Into the Abyss, Back a Conqueror follows the raw, powerful journey of Malik — a young man haunted by trauma, broken family ties, and the unspoken weight of being a man in pain. When Malik disappears, he isn’t escaping the world — he’s searching for himself in places no one else dares to look.

Along the way, he crosses paths with Doreen — a woman hiding her deepest scars behind quiet strength and silence. Together, they navigate the darkness of grief, betrayal, family wounds, and the haunting silence that can break a soul from the inside out.

This novel is not a fairytale. It’s a mirror for every reader who has ever been lost, every heart that has bled quietly in the shadows, and every spirit still fighting to rise again.

But when two broken people meet, can they really save each other — or do they risk drowning together?

Into the Abyss, Back a Conqueror is the powerful debut by Muthomi Erick — a rising star in Kenyan literature whose words shine a light on mental health, family, forgiveness, and the unyielding will to heal.
