Some Account Of The Life And Religious Labours Of Sarah Grubb: With An Appendix Containing An Account Of Ackworth School, Observations On Christian Discipline, And Extracts From Many Of Her Letters by Sarah Grubb. This biography chronicles the life of Sarah Grubb (1755–1790), a Yorkshire-born Quaker minister and diarist who devoted her life to religious service across Scotland, Ireland, and England. Drawing on journals written by Grubb and letters to intimate friends, the book traces her education, early spiritual awakenings, marriage to Robert Grubb, extensive pilgrimages, and involvement with Ackworth School and Christian discipline. It contains the Ackworth School appendix, extracts from her letters, and later accounts of her travels and trials in faithful witness to the Quaker faith. The work presents a portrait of a self-denying, disciplined life, whose spiritual labor sought to sustain the unity and purity of religious fellowship and to promote education and piety among women and youth. Through personal letters and meeting reports, the volume reveals her trials of faith, baptisms of mind, and the sustaining power of divine grace in hardship. It also documents the creation of a boarding school idea for female youth and her international mission to Germany and the Low Countries.
