Published in Philadelphia by James Phillips. 1794 second edition. [6] + 438 pp. 8.5” x 5.5”. 8vo. Hardcover contemporary full leather. As-is, with front board partly detached. Scuffing and edge wear to boards, with losses to binding down spine. Some wear to rear hinge. Light markings. Text block as a whole remains bound well. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce second edition. Sarah Tuke Grubb (1756-1790) was a Quaker minister, writer, and educator who founded a girl’s school in Ireland. A wonderful piece for restoration.
