Typographic ornaments are present. Full, old calf, with a maroon morocco leather title label on the spine with gilt titling and decorations. The spine ends and cover corners, edges show light wear, cracking to hinges, a semi-circular damp stain is present in the middle fore-edge/front margin of about one half of the text pages. Various parts showing results of visits in the 1787-88 period to prisons mentioned by prison reformer, John Howard (1726-90). A rare book.
