24 pp. Bound in at rear of book containing 2 short novels from 1834 and 1835. Title pages says the Captain was Ebenezer Howes Jr., whereas the first page states he was Thomas Howes Jr. Pamphlet was written by one of the sailors abused by the Captain and recounts his experience and also other behavior such as detaining an Englishman (not of the crew) on board until the ship had left Liverpool and then attempting to force him to work. A 4-page appendix relates unpublished accounts of Nantucket whalers committing murder and violence against sailors. Professional bookseller for 20 years. Orders shipped daily in cardboard bookfolds.
