1955 1st edition, limited to 300 copies, of which this is no. 18; tightly bound in red leather with small gilt, blind-stamped dots to cover panels and black and gilt horizontal stripes and gilt lettering to spine;; a little wear to top and base of spine. Patterned slipcase worn on edges and corners but still intact. Internally, Christmas card (presumably from the giver of the book) has been attached to verso of front free endpaper using two small pieces of sellotape; otherwise, a clean, tidy copy.
