Across the Sea

Fate cannot be outrun. Destiny cannot be denied.

Nine moons have passed since the devastating battle against the cauldron-born. From its survivors, Bran forges a new clan. Beneath the sigil of the Oak, his people build a new life near the Sacred Grove.

Ready to build a life of his own, Bran asks Lucia to become his queen. But Lucia has been called to another path.
Forced to choose between love and a life devoted to the Old Ways, which will she sacrifice?

On a distant shore, an exiled Cerridwen gives birth to the child she vowed to destroy. Yet when she beholds his radiant face, she cannot bring herself to kill him. Instead, she casts him into the sea, surrendering him to the Great Mother.

Fate delivers the golden child into the arms of an unlikely protector, a man upon whom fortune has never smiled. Seeing the child's radiant brow, he gives him a name destined to become legend: Taliesin.

Yet the wheel of fortune is known to turn.

As the years pass, old grievances fester and powerful enemies gather beyond the safety of the Oaks' borders. Revenge, betrayal, and the promise of gold draw danger ever closer, while a prophecy casts its shadow over Bran, Lucia, and the children whose destinies have become entwined with Taliesin's own.

They know danger is coming. But when it finally strikes, those they love will be carried far across the sea, toward destinies none of them could have imagined.

Across the Sea continues the Islands in the Mist saga, a historical fantasy rooted in the myths, folklore, and forgotten legends of ancient Wales.
