Synopsis:

#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin—now a major motion picture

The fallout from a horrific Washington explosion has just begun—and so has CIA superagent Mitch Rapp’s hunt for a killer with a personal agenda—in this explosive thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Vince Flynn.

In the final weeks of a fierce presidential campaign, a motorcade carrying candidate Josh Alexander is shattered by a car bomb. Soon after the attack, Alexander is carried to victory by a sympathy vote, but his assailants have not been found. When CIA director Irene Kennedy and Special Agent Skip McMahon receive damaging intelligence on Washington’s most powerful players, they call on Mitch Rapp—the one man reckless enough to unravel a global network of contract killers on an explosive mission that leads back to the heart of our nation’s capital…and the inner sanctum of the Oval Office.

Paperback. Condition: Fair. In the grand tradition of unlikely escapades and convoluted plots, we present to you "Act of Treason" by none other than Vince Flynn. Released in 2007?a year remembered fondly for its exceptional array of reality television and questionable fashion choices?this literary offering promises a turbulent romp through the murky waters of intrigue and deception. It?s the kind of thriller that insists on being taken seriously while sporting a slightly lopsided grin, as if to say, ?Oh, come on, you know you?re curious!? Set against the backdrop of a world in chaos, where every shadow lurks with intent and every phone call may or may not be bugged by an overzealous intern, Flynn invites you into a convoluted labyrinth of political machinations. You will meet characters whose motives are more obscure than the plot of a daytime soap opera, and whose decisions could make a toddler?s tantrum seem like a well-reasoned debate. Can anyone truly be trusted? Spoiler: probably not. But then again, who cares? That?s not really the point. As you wade through the murky depths of conspiracy, you might find yourself wondering if Flynn crafted this narrative during a particularly caffeinated night or while juggling beefy sandwiches. There?s a certain charm in the madness; the sheer audacity of the storyline is like watching a cat try to fit into a box that?s far too small. You can?t help but chuckle at the absurdity even as your pulse quickens at the impending doom. One can only admire Flynn?s commitment to the craft. He seems to be saying, ?Why aim for realism when you can aim for the stars?preferably while driving a tank?? One cannot ignore the rather delightful array of characters, each more outlandish than the last, as they tumble through various states of treachery. The protagonist, undoubtedly a rugged individual with more secrets than a vault at the Bank of England, is pitted against a cast of nefarious villains whose plans are as convoluted as a game of Twister played by octopuses. By the time you reach the climax, you will be left wondering if you?ve just read a political thriller or a particularly intense episode of a spy-themed sitcom. It?s a genre-bending affair that makes you question your own sanity and, possibly, your taste in literature. What would a good treasonous adventure be without a list of totally necessary ingredients? Allow us to present the key features that make this book a must-have for anyone with a penchant for excessive plot twists: Political shenanigans that would make even the most seasoned bureaucrat blush. A protagonist with a penchant for angst, rugged good looks, and a tendency to brood. Villains who are just as transparent as the glass in your grandmother?s front door. Explosions! (Of both the literal and metaphorical variety.) Plot holes that could rival the Grand Canyon. A knack for making you question your own moral compass while munching on a biscuit. Condition: This particular copy has seen more action than a spy on a double mission. Expect dog-eared pages, a slightly creased cover that tells tales of late-night escapades, and perhaps a few notes in the margins from previous readers who, like you, found themselves both bewildered and amused by the narrative. It?s well-loved, if not a touch battered, making it the perfect companion for those long train rides where you want to look busy while actually pondering the meaning of life?or at least the meaning of ?why did I buy this?? So, if you?re in the mood for a book that plays fast and loose with the concepts of logic and reality, look no further. "Act of Treason" is your ticket to a thrilling literary experience that?s just absurd enough to make you wonder about the state of modern storytelling. Available for purchase at Crappy Old Books, where the only thing older than the pages is the sense of humour. Get it before it winks out of existence, or worse, before it gets a film adaptation starring someone inexplicably famous! Trust us; you won?t regret it?or you might, but that?s half the fun. I actually found this at the airport and naturally picked it up to sell it for my own personal profit. The airport was Detroit I think? THIS BOOK BEARS THE CRAPPY OLD BOOKS STAMP. IF THAT IS UNDESIRABLE PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS. THE STAMP MARKS WHICH IS USUALLY TO THE FRONT AND BACK INNER PAGES SAYS SOLD BY CRAPPY OLD BOOKS WITH WEB SITE URL. IT IN NO WAY DEMINISHED FROM THE READING. IF YOU WANT A PRISTINE BOOK, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER BOOK IN BETTER CONDITION SOMEWHERE ELSE. Seller Inventory # 755
