Act Two & Beyond (Paperback)

People are living a long time—longer than ever. This is a good thing, but what are you going to do with those extra ten, twenty, or sometimes thirty years of retirement?

Will you be slipping quietly into the decades and accepting that this is it? Or will you seize each day as a new opportunity to learn and challenge yourself?

Gid Pool’s book is for those who want to know, “What’s next?”

At the age of sixty-one, Gid quit his day job to achieve his dream of being a touring stand-up comedian. Ten years later, he has performed on stages from Vancouver, Canada to Edinburgh, Scotland. His journey is an inspiration and model for those wanting to use their latter years to follow their passion.

Maybe it’s planting and maintaining a garden. Or maybe it’s taking a road trip or traveling overseas. Whatever the case, Pool is ready to help you create the roadmap and discover the courage to live your dream. Perhaps more importantly, he’ll also help you prevent the world from crashing in and squashing that dream.

First, ask yourself, “What’s next?”

Then, simply get started in your pursuit.

Gid Pool left a career in real estate, at the age of sixty-one, to follow his life-long dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. Ten years later numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and the Today Show, have featured his story. He has also been written about in three books, including one by Jane Pauley. He's appeared at the AARP national meeting in New Orleans, and for the past five years, has shared his experiences and advice on major cruise lines.
