About the Author

Tesia Nicoli grew up knowing she wanted to be an actress. In the early years of her life her theatrical desires were expressed through an overabundance of “shows” she would produce for any family member. She eventually earned a degree in communications and professional writing. High school plays and the occasional acting gig in college still did not satisfy her acting bug. Nicoli took as many acting classes as possible early in her career and landed her first role in a community theatre production after attending her first acting class. She has since worked extensively in theatre, film, television, and commercial work. She has written twelve plays, three of which have been produced on stage. Over the years she has worked as a: talent scout, location scout, scriptwriter, assistant director, director, acting coach, and production assistant. Nicoli has also recorded numerous voice over projects for commercials and eLearning courses. She began teaching acting classes in 2006 and has since continued to teach a wide array of drama-related courses such as: Focus on Film, Auditions & Monologues, Acting: On Camera Critique, Improvisation Basics and Beyond, Acting for Youth, and Acting, Drama & Performance. She teaches private lessons to children and adults looking for individual assistance and guidance. In 2012 she founded The Acting Edge, which is a social networking place for people interested in the acting industry. The Acting Edge also produces informational videos on various acting topics. Nicoli lives west of Allentown, Pennsylvania with her husband, two children, and two cats.
