Based on James Asher's Total Physical Response (TPR), Action-Based Grammar Practice Exercises: Student's Pairwork Book is a resource for teachers who wish to include actions in the practice of grammatical structures. It can be used in conjunction with any coursebook or methodological approach. It can also be used as a stand-alone language practice book in which learners, working with a partner, develop their listening and speaking skills outside the classroom. The materials consist of 28 units of action-based exercises organized by grammatical topics (adjectives, adverbs, etc.). There is also a preparatory unit, 14 resource pages and 7 appendices.

About the Author

Stephen Mark Silvers taught English and trained teachers for nearly forty years in Brazil, first as a USIS English Teaching Fellow at the Manaus Brazilian-American Cultural Institute (ICBEU) and later at the Federal University of Amazonas. He is the author of Listen and Draw: Easy Drawing Activities for the EFL/ESL Classroom and Fun Facts for the EFL/ESL Classroom-both practical resource books for teachers. His most recent book, You Don't Have to Be Famous to Write a Memoir, is part autobiography, part cultural time capsule, and part Boomer wisdom. He is retired and lives in Seattle, where he continues to produce materials for EFL/ESL learners and educators
