Active Spirituality

ACTIVE SPIRITUALITY IS BALANCED SPIRITUALITY?devotion with its feet on the ground, prayer with a practical dimension, meditation with muscle. Active spirituality is the basic orientation of biblical faith. And it's also the heart of this bracing, refreshing, "non-devotional guide."

Chuck Swindoll never urges you away from the inner disciplines that keep you centered in Christ. But through his insightful explanation of selected Proverbs and his practical "Spirituality in Action" suggestions he effectively challenges Christians to undersand that ultimately spirituality is something you do.

Adapting and rewriting twenty-two carefully selected chapters from his previously published two volume work Living Beyond the Daily Grind, Chuck gives a picture of what the well-balanced Christian life should look like. God-center, God-directed?a life of active spirituality.

Pastor Charles R. Swindoll has devoted his life to the accurate, practical teaching and application of God’s Word. He is the founding pastor of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas, as well as the founder of Insight for Living, a leading program in Christian broadcasting since 1979 that airs around the world. Chuck has also served as president and chancellor emeritus at Dallas Theological Seminary and has written more than 135 books for a worldwide reading audience, for which he has received the Gold Medallion Lifetime Achievement Award, twelve Gold Medallion Awards, and the Christian Book Award for Bible of the Year.
