Book Condition: Very Good, moderate shelf wear to edges and cover, corners bumped (see photo), spine faded, internally near fine, slightest hint of uniform tanning to text appropriate to the age of this title, pages clean and unmarked. This is one of the original 1951 monographs that were later published collectively into a single volume in 1958. Scope of this monograph: This monograph is the first in a series describing the results of a comprehensive study of over-the-counter securities markets conducted by the Securities Research Unit of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The general aim of the series it to determine and analyze the magnitude, structure and operation of the over-the-counter securities markets. Historically signficant as the research started with this monograph would later lead Friend to be the first to question the commonly held view that mutual funds perform better then an unmanaged portfolio of individual stocks. Friend's research brought new influence to Wharton's Finance Department as well as industry-wide reforms. Very Scarce Title, 79 Pages.
