The Actor

When Marc Allender agrees to sign photos at Sci-Con he expects a few days in the limelight. He’s in for an abrupt reality check: women used to ask him to autograph their breasts and now he can’t even make visitors ask him for directions. Laura is Marc’s polar opposite. She’s sensible and levelheaded, and venturing out to get his photo is the most adventurous thing she’s attempted in her life. Her wide-eyed admiration is exactly the fuel Marc’s somewhat deflated ego covets. As Marc struggles with family problems, drug problems, work problems, and depression, Laura becomes his lifeline. Nothing could prepare her for the chaotic whirlwind that is his life and she’s in far above her head. Will she be willing and able to save him?

Maya Brooks is a dreamer, and writing is her passion. During daytime she works, collects gargoyles, and learns to play guitar. At night, she is engulfed in romantic adventures - often with a dark touch.
