This book establishes and charters a public ferry to be known as Ivy’s Ferry across the Catawba River in the Counties of York and Lancaster, South Carolina. The ferry is vested in James M. Ivy, his heirs and assigns for the term of twenty years. The rates of toll are set out in the following: For every four-horse carriage or vehicle, seventy-five cents; for every three-horse carriage or vehicle, sixty cents; for every two-horse carriage or vehicle, fifty cents; for every one-horse buggy or vehicle, thirty cents; for every man and horse, twenty cents; for every footman, ten cents; for every head of cattle, five cents; for every hog, goat, or sheep, three cents.
