About the Author
Peter A. Kerr is the Academic Director and Associate Professor of Leadership and Communications at Southeastern University. He is also President of KerrCommunications, providing world-class communications training for marketing, media relations, crisis planning, intercultural communications and leadership improvement. His degrees include a BS in Engineering and Behavioral Science (with emphasis in leadership) from the Air Force Academy, an MA in Communications from the University of Washington, and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has been published in many places including a chapter in Understanding Evangelical Media, various articles on leadership and communications in magazines, and two peer-reviewed academic journals. Peter has traveled to more than 50 countries on six continents and speaks various languages. He's worked with many media outlets including CNN, NBC, FOX, BBC, NY Times, USA Today, NPR, London Times, Der Spiegel, and Aljazeera. Peter led all media relations during the 2004 President Ronald Reagan State Funeral in DC, released the Air Force budget of $120B to the DC press corps, and has media trained hundreds of leaders including White House officials, generals, CEOs, and non-profit leaders. Other experiences include negotiating with U.S. embassies and foreign military leaders in the Middle East, serving as Chief Media Liaison Officer for Outdoor Games in Beijing for the 2008 Olympics, and doing crisis planning for the 2010 World Equestrian Games.Peter enjoys speaking at conferences and retreats world-wide, and when he isn't working or traveling he enjoys reading, playing sports, strategy games, and just being with his wife Rebecca and their four children in Washington state.
