Adamstown Books

Adamstown Books is an online-only antiquarian and used book dealer formerly with a retail store at the historic Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster PA. Our presence began in Adamstown, aka America's Antiques Capital. The Adamstown tradition is boosted by our proximity to the emerging antiques presence in Columbia PA, and the rich religious and cultural history of Lancaster County and Pennsylvania. With Gettysburg a 1 1/2 hour drive away, the American Civil War is naturally one of our key categories. We also offer a number of Religious and Theological works as a result of our past partnership with the Lancaster Theological Seminary. Pennsylvania History, Vintage Children's, and the Victorian Period (with a special emphasis on the Pre-Raphaelites) round out our main categories. These are complemented with offerings in many traditional areas such as Art, Literature, Poetry, Theater, American History, and Science. The diverse cultural, religious, and historical currents in Pennsylvania including the Amish and Mennonite communities, many antique and collector's markets, allow us to search offline for a variety of books and ephemera in less common specialty areas.
