Addicted to an Addict: Your Life Matters Too

If you love someone with an addiction and feel as though their choices have taken over your life, this book is for you.

When someone you care about is struggling with addiction, it can be easy to become consumed by their behaviour, their pain, their promises, and their chaos. You may find yourself constantly trying to help, fix, rescue, explain, forgive, or hold everything together, while your own needs disappear into the background.

Addicted to an Addict: Your Life Matters Too is a compassionate self-help book for the partners, family members, friends, and loved ones affected by another person’s addiction.

Through guidance, reflection, and honest encouragement, Suna Spry helps readers begin to understand co-dependency, emotional exhaustion, low self-worth, guilt, and the impact of past trauma, abuse, or neglect. The book offers support for those who feel trapped in the cycle of focusing entirely on the addict, while forgetting that their own life deserves care, attention, and healing too.

This is not about blaming the person with the addiction. It is about recognising that you cannot do their recovery for them.

You can, however, begin to reclaim your own life.

If you feel consumed by someone else’s addiction, this book is a reminder that your life matters too.
