An early edition of this very scarce tract on the subject of the propriety of midwives by J. R. Pickmere. The fourth edition, intended for the pamphleteer, with considerable additions, of this very scarce work. Disbound but intact. A very scarce tract concerning the propriety of midwives by J. R. Pickmere, disbound from Volume XXVIII, No. LV of Abraham John Valpy's 'The Pamphleteer'. 'The Pamphleteer' was a series of books containing the best pamphlets of the day. It included contributions from William Wilberforce, Jeremy Bentham, and George Canning, among others. Undated, dated through copies held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. Unbound but intact. Externally generally smart, with remnants of the backstrip to the spine. Pages 63 to 80, and pages 113 to 117, are detached from the textblock but remain intact. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a little offsetting to the text. The last page is attached to the penultimate page to the top edge. Very Good.
