About the Author
Paul Jamieson, a professor emeritus of English, was born in Des Moines in 1903. In 1929 he joined the faculty of St. Lawrence University in Canton, a village off the northwestern corner of the Adirondack Park, where he passed away in 2006 at the age of 103. Besides The Adirondack Reader, his publications on the region include magazine articles, chapters in books, and Adirondack Canoe Waters: North Flow.
