Prospective essayists get a feel for the craft of producing a concise, impressive, and self-revealing piece that will enhance the rest of the college application. This is similar to the treatment of the personal essay in Frank C. Leana's Getting into College (Hill & Wang, 1980), but is the sole focus here.
