Advanced Economics of Development

Development economics is a branch of economics which deals with economic aspects of the development process in low-income countries. Its focus is not only on methods of promoting economic growth and structural change, but also on improving the potential for the population. The major indicators of development include equality of opportunity, rising income and living standard of people, equity in the distribution of income and wealth, increased opportunities for education and self-improvement, an efficient, competent, transparent and fairly administered public sector and a reasonable degree of competition in the private sector.
