About the Author:
Shahin Sirouspour received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1995 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 2003. He then joined McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include teleoperation control, haptics, robot-assisted medical intervention, advanced robot controls, machine vision, and medical image processing. He was on research leave at MDA Space Missions (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) during the period July 2010-June 2011. Dr. Sirouspour received the McMaster Presidents Award of Excellence in Graduate Supervision in 2008.
