Advanced Web Technologies: 2nd Edition

This text is an introduction to the complex world of the Advanced Web Technologies. This new edition has been thoroughly reviewed and revamped to reflect the new web design environment (Web 3.0). This book encapsulates rich practical hands-on experience in developing web applications, combined with teaching the subject for graduate/post-graduate students. The book is therefore a culmination of putting together what has been both practiced as well as preached, which is the one of the most compelling differentiators for this book. But what is more fascinating is the nature of the web itself. It can also be used for independent study by anyone interested in getting a broad introduction to a useful subset of the many technologies commonly used to develop commercial and recreational websites. This book covers knowledge of all web development programming languages like SERVLET, JSP, PERL, XML, XSL, .NET, ASP.NET, AJAX.

This book will help web application developers and software architects pick the right strategy for developing cross-platform applications that run on a variety of desktop computers as well as mobile devices. Through this book, We hope that you will see the absolute necessity of understanding which WEB TECHNOLOGY to use for a certain scenario. In all projects, especially those that are concerned with performance (here we apply an even greater emphasis on real-time systems), the selection of the wrong web technology can be the cause of a great deal of performance pain.
