About the Author
Jack Elliott wrote an aviation column for the Sunday Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) for 38 1/2 years, the longest running aviation newspaper column on record. His stories have won numerous national journalism awards and he was inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame of New Jersey in 1986. He holds a commercial pilots license with instrument, glider, and single-engine seaplane ratings. He has been flying for more than 50 years.
